"No fried requests for you"

Films: Strangeland (1998)

Alias: Carlton Hendricks

Type: Natural

Location: Haunted home

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Summary: The internet was still young back in the 90s. No one had any idea how powerful it could be, nor did anyone know the destructive potential it could bring about. Captain Howdy exists as an early cautionary tale for the new breed of predator that would gain rise through the cyberspace.

History: A notorious sadomasochist, Carlton "Captain Howdy" Hendricks was obsessed with ancient body modification traditions, including tattoos and sharpening his teeth to points. He may have not been alone in this mindset, but he was above the rest for what he did to unsuspecting teenagers, luring them into his torture chamber across the internet so that he may inflict twice as much pain on them as he did himself. He was eventually caught, and after being sentenced to a mental ward, he seemed to be cured. But it won't be long before those displeased with his karma-dodge awaken Howdy again...

Notable Kills: Anytime his tortures end in death, as well as killing someone to use their corpse as a bludgeon.

Final Fate: After Carlton regresses into Howdy again and kills more people, a particularly vengeful cop has Howdy quite literally on the ropes, and douses him in gasoline before lighting him aflame.

Powers/Abilities: None.

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 4.5-It's every adult's worst nightmare. A creepy self-harming man stealing your kids under the guise of a cool dude on the internet so that he may make them suffer. Oh, and keep in mind that one of his tortures is to have your LIPS STITCHED SHUT! Needless to say, this man was an utter psycho.

Trivia: -Howdy was played by Daniel "Dee" Snider, the lead singer and songwriter of "Twisted Sister". He's a great musician and a terrifying actor, apparently. Some of his songs were even in this film.

-A prequel comic series was made for this film by first Fangoria Comics, and then Scream Factory when the former went defunct. It was called "Dee Snider's Strangeland: Seven Sins", and it was about the first seven murders that Howdy partook in to gain vengeance and become the monster he was.

Remember, kids. Nineties internet was a blessing and a curse.

This should have raised an army of red flags.

Let's hope those chompers aren't put to use.

Talk about getting hooked on the web.

Good luck with the third degree burns, asshat.
